After the dispute regarding appointment of an English teacher in grade 11 of Mahendra Jyoti Higher Secondary School flared up, the school management committee has been forced to close the school from Wednesday. [break]
The dispute had ensued in the school some four days ago after the English teacher, Tej Bahadur Nepali, did not allow a recently appointed English teacher Bai Krishna Sunar to teach the subject in grade 11. The school management committee had recently appointed Sunar.
According to Principal Laxman Babu Acharya, the disagreement intensified after Nepali entered into a class being conducted by Sunar.
“Though the school administration appointed Sunar, a Bachelor´s degree holder, as its new English teacher in place of under graduate teacher Nepali in grade 11, the latter denied to hand over his classes to Sunar. As a result of which, the tension has flared up, disrupting educational activities of the school,” said Acharya.
He said the school was closed after the teachers nearly resorted to fight inside the school on Wednesday.
Over 600 students of the school have been affected after the closure of the school. The stakeholders have been approaching the District Administration Office to settle the matter, the issue is yet to be resolved.
“The school administration has curtailed my two classes without any prior notice. I will not accept this injustice," said Nepali. He alleged that the school was conspiring against him.
