KATHMANDU, Aug 30: Director and media person Dinesh Raj Dahal (DC) has been appointed as the chairman of the Film Development Board (FDB), Nepal.
The Cabinet meeting held at Singh Darbar on Thursday appointed DC as the chairman of the FDB. DC was appointed out of three people recommended for the post.

According to Rajesh Kumar Thapa, member secretary of the FDB and Under Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the names of film director and media person DC, film director Deepa Pandey Basnet and Rajesh Thapa, Former General manager at Nepal Cultural Corporation were recommended.
The recommendation committee recommended their names to the Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung. Among the recommendations of the committee, the cabinet meeting appointed DC as the chairman of the FDB.
Along with DC, five other, including actress Karishma Manandhar, former general manager of Nepal Cultural Corporation Rajesh Thapa, director Deepa Pandey Basnet, former board member Prakash Bhattarai and producer and former board member Arjun Kumar Dangol had applied for the post of chairman of the FDB.
Earlier, actor Bhuwan KC was the chairman of the FDB.
