Development of Ramgram by all levels of governments: Minister Bhattarai

PARASI, August 8: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, has said all three levels of government would make joint efforts to develop the historic Ramgram of West Nawalparasi.

PARASI, August 8: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, has said all three levels of government would make joint efforts to develop the historic Ramgram of West Nawalparasi. Minister Bhattarai said this while inspecting the Ramgram Monastery on Thursday.


During a discussion with local activists, he said, "Even the Prime Minister has a keen interest on this monastery. All levels of governments make joint efforts for its development, but its local people's duty to protect it." According to him, as per the Lumbini Master Plan, the infrastructures would be developed in a way to protect the historicity and archaeological value of the Ramgram. The Minister also hoped for tourism promotion at Ramgram after the operation of the Bhairahawa International Airport.

On the occasion, Minister for Physical Infrastructures at State 5, Baijyanath Chaudhary, shared that the State government had initiated works as the construction of bridges, a museum for the holistic development of Ramgram.


 Vice-Chairman of the Lumbini Development Fund, Vikshu Maiteyaleru, also shared that construction of the monastery was underway at the cost of Rs 7.13 billion. "We're striving to expropriate further land for the construction of museum and meditation center," he added.
