KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Kathmandu´s don Deepak Manange was arrested immediately after he was released from the Dillibazaar prison on Wednesday after completing his 11-month sentence.

Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu (MPRK) rearrested him under Public Offense Act accusing him of misbehavior with police team with ´an intent of vengeance´ while police were trying to grill him. [break]

MPRK said it would investigate and charge him later on other serious cases. "We are aware of how he planned and committed other crimes like looting and extortion," said MPRK chief SP Ganesh KC. Police also arrested two of Manange´s aides.

Manange had served 11-month sentence after a verdict from District Administration Office Kathmandu in a public offense case in which he was convicted of assault on Abhishek Bikram Shah.

Having served one month jail initially, Manage had managed to get himself freed after filing a petition in which he identified himself as Rajiv Gurung and claiming that he was not Deepak Manange. The Apex Court, too, had ruled in his favor. Police however arrested him two months later and revived the case against him and forced to pursue his jail term.
