KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Police arrested former Gandaki Province minister Rajiv Gurung aka Deepak Manange on Tuesday morning from Sano Bharyang, Kathmandu.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Hobindra Bogati, the spokesperson for the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, said that a CIB team arrested Manange at around 10:45 am today.
Manange has already been taken to the CIB office at Lazimpat, Kathmandu.

Manange was recently convicted of attempted murder by the Supreme Court (SC) and sentenced to 26 months in prison.
He was elected as an independent Member of Gandaki Province Assembly from Manang, Provincial Constituency-2 in the elections of 2074 and 2079.
In the year 2061, a case of attempted murder was filed against Manange for attacking Milan Gurung aka Chakre with a sharp weapon. In the same year, the Kathmandu District Court sentenced Manang to two-years of imprisonment. The other four defendants including Ganesh Lama, Umesh Lama, Rewat Karki, and Ramesh Sunuwar were acquitted.
