Deceased Sujan Raut had no gunshot wounds, bruise seen on chest: Kist hospital

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Contrary to initial reports, Kist Hospital has clarified that Sujan Raut, who lost his life in the Balkumari incident, did not have a gunshot wound in his body.


Amish Pathak, the hospital's CEO, informed Republica that Raut, who was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state during the protest after being unable to take the Employment Permit System (EPS) examination for a job in South Korea, did not show any gunshot wounds. He instead had bruises in his chest.

Pathak stated that locals brought Raut to the hospital after finding him in an unconscious state on the road. He was admitted to the hospital at 12:40 and pronounced dead at 1:17. 


No gunshot wounds were seen on his body, but there were bruises on the chest. The exact cause of death will only be determined only after the post-mortem examination, said the hospital sources.
