KATHMANDU, Oct 23: The Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) has demanded that government began providing day meal to the students of all community schools across the country.
A delegation of HURPES drew the attention of Education Minister, Dhaniram Poudel, to this regard while submitting a 10-point memorandum on Sunday.
On the occasion, Minister Poudel said the 10-point memorandum put forth by the Society was positive and expressed commitment to implement it as far as possible.
Stating that concept of day meal has been brought into practice in some districts of mid-western and far western regions, he said discussion would be held regarding educational incentives.
The memorandum urged the Minister to launch extensive initiatives and campaigns to control the misuse of drugs and drug abusers, saying the number of drug abusers was rising alarmingly in the country. RSS
