KATHMANDU, Jan 27: District Administration Office Kathmandu on Monday allowed the police to remand singer Astha Raut in custody for four days.

On Monday morning, Raut had surrendered to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, one week after the DAO Kathmandu issued an arrest warrant against her for her 'indecent behavior' to the on-duty police constable Ramita Shrestha at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Acting on a complaint registered by Shrestha at the TIA Security Office, the administration issued the arrest warrant against Raut.

Raut has been accused of misbehaving the police officer while she was on duty at the domestic terminal of the TIA, Kathmandu on Wednesday, according to the spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hobindra Bogati.

Two days after the incident, police staffer Shrestha registered the complaint at the TIA security officeHer complaint was then forwarded to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner's Office, Ranipokhari for further action.

In her complaint, Shrestha claimed that Raut misbehaved her using abusive words during a security check.

Following the incident, Raut posted a live video on Facebook, in which she apparently criticized the policewoman claiming that the latter misbehaved her. In the viral video, Raut is being seen quite furious while using some 'inappropriate' words too.

However, she removed the video after receiving harsh criticism on social media. Later on, she wrote on Facebook and apologized for the use of 'abusive language'.
