KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday increased by 12.17 points to close at 2,607.42 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,595.24 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,611.47 points in the first 26 minutes. The index however witnessed a straight fall to around 2,590 points in the next 12 minutes and remained almost stable for the next two hours, before reaching as low as 2,576.96 points. The market recovered around 29 points in the last 75 minutes before it closed for the day.

Two groups—hotels and tourism, and mutual funds—declined 28.85 points, and 0.01 points, respectively. Of the 11 gainers, finance surged by the largest of 78.72 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased 1.14 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.68 billion from Rs 5.15 billion.
Among the individual companies, 149 were gainers while 90 were recorded as losers. Union Hydropower Limited had the largest turnover of Rs 386.15 million.
Mabilung Energy Limited by adding 9.99 percent was recorded as the highest gainer. First Micro Finance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 7.48 percent of its market price.
