KATHMANDU, July 26: The main opposition CPN-UML has prepared to obstruct the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) to be held at 1 PM today. The party is going to demand the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat.
UML demands that Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha should resign in light of the recent seizure of nearly 100 kg of smuggled gold. The gold was concealed in the brake shoes of scooters which were being transported in a taxi leaving the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Padam Giri, the chief whip of the CPN-UML, said that both the ministers did not perform their duties efficiently when gold was smuggled. He says, "The ministers of Home Affairs and Finance should take the moral responsibility of 100 kg of smuggled gold that was passed through the customs check at the TIA."
The CPN-UML has called a parliamentary party meeting at 12PM in Lhotse Hall at New Baneshwor to prepare the plan to obstruct parliament.
