KATHMANDU, March 9: The Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Leninist), which was revived after the Supreme Court's verdict on Sunday, placed its signboard at the Dhumbarahi-based party headquarters on Tuesday.

Cadres of the Oli-led faction placed the signboard of the CPN (UML) on the front side of the building which was previously used by the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led jointly by KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal after the merger between the CPN (UML) and CPN Maoist (Center) in 2018.

Calling the NCP's unification invalid, the apex court  scrapped the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) registered in the name of KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, giving the party to little-known Rishi Kattel who had registered Nepal Communist Party at the Election Commission much before the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was registered in the names of Oli and Dahal in May 2018.

Ishwari Rijal, secretary at the CPN (UML)'s central office, said that party offices at all levels will now place their own signboards in place of the previously-used NCP's signboard. "Now onward, all party's structures will be functional under the name of CPN (UML).

CPN-UML Central Office Secretary Ishwori Rijal said that offices at all levels from the center have now replaced boards with the name of UML. He said that all the structures would be functional under the new arrangements.
