KATHMANDU, Aug 15: The CPN-UML has removed Keshav Sthapit as a central committee member of the party. Sthapit had himself asked for his removal as a central member. Based on this, the secretariat meeting held on Monday, decided to dismiss Sthapit from the party's central committee.
He was inactive within the party after losing the position of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City after the local elections in November last year.

Similarly, another leader, Pramod Narayan Yadav, was also removed from the central committee of the party in Monday's meeting.
