KATHMANDU, Nov 24: The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to remand medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai for five days for further investigation. The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police presented Prasai before the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday for an extension of custody.
The Bureau chief, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nabindra Aryal, said that the court has authorized five-day custody for the investigation.
Court extends Durga Prasai’s judicial remand by four days
A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police reached Prasai’s residence and arrested him on the charge of cyber crime on Tuesday.
Prasai held a press conference on Monday and released some documents claiming that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has an investment of nearly Rs 32 billion in a telecom company in Cambodia. Those documents have not been fact-checked yet. Those close to the UML and Oli are claiming that these documents are forged.
