KATHMANDU, May 9: The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to remand Rabindra Mishra and Durga Prasai in custody for an additional five days for further investigation in connection with the Tinkune violence.
On Thursday, the court allowed the extension of judicial remand for Mishra, Prasai and 24 other individuals for further investigation. After the 7-day detention period granted on April 27 for investigation expired, the police again sought permission for further detention.
Court extends Durga Prasai’s judicial remand by four days

Durga Prasai, who is referred to as the general commander of the pro-monarchy protest at Tinkune, has been charged with attempted murder, criminal mischief, organized crime and treason.
Similarly, RPP Senior Vice Chairman Mishra has been charged with state and organized crime. Mishra was arrested on March 28, while Prasai was arrested after being brought back from India. Along with Mishra, Member of Parliament Dhawal Shamser Rana was also arrested, but the police released him two weeks ago citing health reasons.
