Court extends Durga Prasai’s judicial remand by five days

Durga Prasai had released some documents claiming that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has an investment of nearly Rs 32 billion in a telecom company in Cambodia.

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to remand medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai for additional five days for further investigation.


A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police reached Prasai’s residence and arrested him on the charge of cyber crime on November 19.

Earlier on November 24, the court had granted permission to remand Prasai for five days. On the same day of his arrest, the Court remanded him to custody for three days according to Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act.


Prasai had released some documents claiming that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has an investment of nearly Rs 32 billion in a telecom company in Cambodia.
