KATHMANDU, July 13: The District Court of Kathmandu has acquitted the operator of Malaysia VLN Nepal Ram Shrestha on the charge of overcharging Nepali for visa processing.
The single bench of Judge Medini Prasad Poudel while giving the verdict on the case filed by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Welfare, decided to acquit Shrestha citing lack of evidence against the defendant. A case was filed against Shrestha on June 11, 2018, accusing him of overcharging foreign job seeker for visa processing. Lalitpur District Court had already acquitted Shrestha on December 12, 2018, in a similar kind of case.
