´The schools in the district will be closed down from May 19-24 due to the examination of Teachers Service Commission, said Yadav Ghimire, president of the district chapter of Nepal Teachers Union.[break]
The examination of Teacher´s Service Commission has been scheduled for May 23, 24 and 25.
The decision to this effect was taken after a meeting with different unions of teachers at the District Education Office.
The six-day leave will be slashed from the summer vacation.
However, education rights activists and educationists have opposed the decision.
