Coca-Cola celebrates Environment Day

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Coca-Cola Nepal celebrated World Environment Day by organizing various programs on Sunday. According to a press statement, the celebrations centered around the theme of ´Energy´ to create awareness about conserving the environment by using renewable and reusable energy sources.



 This year, the company is involving students from the Coca-Cola ´Support My School´ campaign to be part of Environment Day Celebrations, said the statement. Coca-Cola employees will also be involved in awareness building drives across Kathmandu. "Energy is a crucial component of the Coca-Cola Company´s vision 2020 statement as well as our ´ME-WE-WORLD´ sustainability framework. [break]



Our company has developed various local and international partnerships across the world to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions, and I hope that through our efforts in Nepal, we are able to raise awareness and make some difference to the communities here", Shadab Khan, country manager- Nepal, Coca-Cola Far East Limited, said in the statement. Coca-Cola Nepal recently launched the ´Support My School´ Campaign to improve water and sanitation facilities in schools in partnership with UNHABITAT, Clean Energy Nepal and ENPHO.
