In a memorandum submitted to Finance Minister Surendra Pandey, NIEGFC has asked the government to set the yearly grade as much as one day´s salary and end the practice of cutting off grades while granting promotions.
The NIEGFC also demanded that the salary, allowances and other facilities for those appointed as unranked, temporary, daily wage holders and under contract at par with permanent staff. Release of home leave amount up to 180 days in the same year and yearly uniform allowance of Rs 10,000 are among the 19-point demand incorporated in the memorandum submitted Tuesday.
Rs 3.48b Japanese aid for Banepa-Sindhuli road
KATHMANDU, June 23: The government of Japan has agreed to provide a grant assistance of Rs 3.48 billion to Nepal for the construction of the third section of the Banepa-Sindhuli Road. Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said notes to this effect and a separate grant agreement were signed and exchanged between the two governments.
Finance Secretary Rameshore Khanal and Japanese ambassador Tatsuo Mizuno signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments. Similarly, Kapil Dev Ghimire, joint secretary at the Foreign Aid Division of the MoF and Nariaki Niwa, chief representative of JICA Nepal, signed the grant agreement for the implementation of the project.
The grant assistance will be utilized for the construction and blacktopping of 36.8 km of Nepalthok-Khurkot segment of the Banepa-Sindhuli Road project that started in 1996. The third section of the road is expected to be completed by March 2014.
