CIAA drags Deputy Registrar, CA to Special Court

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday filed a case at the Special Court in Kathmandu against Lalbabu Kawari, a deputy registrar at the Office of Company Registrar, and Chartered Accountant Bhanu Kandel on charges of graft.



The CIAA received a complaint that Kawari and Kandel had sought two million rupees from Chairmperson and Managing Director of Chitwan Medical College, Dr Harishchandra Neupane. [break]



The commission moved the Special Court as it was proved that they had already accepted Rs 1.5 million as bribes from Neupane and one Sunil Paudel, CIAA Spokesperson Shridhar Sapkota said.
