CIAA arrests Officiating NOC director

KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Officiating Executive Director of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Suresh Kumar Agrawal and three other officials on the charges of irregularities while allotting ´profit´ bonus to the NOC officials.



In a statement on Tuesday, Spokesperson for the CIAA, Sridhar Sapkota informed that NOC Officiating Executive Director Agrawal, Director Nagendra Shah and the two managers, Netra Kafle and Pawan Prasad Sharma have been taken into custody for further investigation. [break]



The anti-graft body had launched an investigation after complaints of irregularities in allocating bonus to the NOC officials.



The CIAA had ordered the NOC not to allot bonus to its staffs unless the corporation generates the net profit in 2008.
