KATHMANDU, March 12: Newly-appointed Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai called on UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday.

During the meeting envoy Wu and Dahal discussed various issues including the recent political situation in Nepal. According to sources, envoy Wu also said to have raised the issues of Tibetan refugees during the meeting.[break]

Despite the Nepal government’s repeated assurance to China on Nepal’s one-China policy, China is extremely concerned about possible involvement of Tibetan refugees in Nepal on anti-China activities.

Earlier on Monday, the Chinese envoy had presented his letters of credence before President Dr Ram Baran Yadav amidst a special ceremony at Shital Niwas.

Chief of the party’s foreign affairs department Krishna Bahadur Mahara was also present during the meeting.
