China Southern Airlines interested in flying to Pokhara and Bhairahawa

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, held discussions with the representatives of China Southern Airlines regarding the latter’s interest in starting flights to and from Pokhara and Bhairahawa on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, held discussions with the representatives of China Southern Airlines regarding the latter’s interest in starting flights to and from Pokhara and Bhairahawa on Thursday.


The airline officials met with Minister Pandey at his Singha Durbar office, expressing their desire to expand services to the Pokhara Regional International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport in Nepal.

China Southern Airlines, which operates in over 40 countries, already runs flights to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from Guangzhou.


During the meeting, the representatives commended the policy reforms implemented by Minister Pande, aimed at enhancing aviation services to Nepal's regional airports. Minister Pande welcomed their interest, highlighting Pokhara's status as a tourist hub and Bhairahawa's significance as the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha.
