KATHMANDU, Oct 6: The newly-appointed Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy and assume office today.
President Ram Chandra Paudel is scheduled to appoint Raut as the Chief Justice today and administer the oath of office and secrecy at Sheetal Niwas.
CJ Raut faces challenges ahead to restore public trust
The oath-taking ceremony of the Chief Justice Raut is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
Raut was appointed the Chief Justice following the retirement of the previous Chief Justice Bishawambhar Prasad Shrestha on October 4. Raut will lead the apex court until March 31, 2026. A meeting of the Constitutional Council recommended the appointment of Raut as the Chief Justice on September 16. Following that, the parliamentary hearing committee approved his name on October 2.
