KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Politburo member of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Netra Bikram Chand Uma Bhujel has been arrested.
She was arrested at Balaju of Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon on the charge of arson attack carried out on a shop based in Namobuddha of Kavre district.

She was handed over to the District Police Office, Kavre for necessary action, said police spokesperson Shailesh Thapa.
Former lawmaker Bhujel is known for her role in leading a successful jailbreak in Gorkha in 2001.
She was then Brigade Commissar of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Her husband Bhimsen Wagle had been killed along with Suresh Wagle, then alternative politburo member of the Maoist party, in Gorkha in 2056 BS.
Her book titled 'Banda Akash Dekhi Khula Akashsamma’ which gives an account of the then jailbreak has been published.
