CHITWAN, Sept 1: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) will now have a strong visual monitoring base with installation of CC cameras at 10 locations deemed crucial.
The cameras have been set up from CNP Head Office Kasara to Rapti and Narayani rivers in Amaltari of Nawaparasi.

The CC camera set up at Tikauli area under the East-West highway earlier has yielded fruitful results prompting the decision to install additional cameras at locations deemed sensitive.
The CC cameras were set up with financial support of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Nepal Army's technical help, CNP Chief Conservation Official, Ram Chandra Kandel said. He added that the installation of the camera would be of help in monitoring the movement of the people and wildlife.
The CNP administration, however, has not disclosed the locations where the cameras – charged with solar power – have been set up. The monitoring will be carried out from the Park's Head Office at Kasara.
The 10 cameras set up at Tikauli area has helped mitigate the number of road accidents involving wildlife and discouraged disposal of waste products. RSS
