Car driven by DSP collides with vehicle carrying lawmakers from Koshi

The car driven by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khagendra Khadka from the District Police Office, Jhapa, collided with a vehicle carrying Koshi Province lawmakers in Kanepokhari, Morang, on Monday.

BIRATNAGAR, May 19: The car driven by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khagendra Khadka from the District Police Office, Jhapa, collided with a vehicle carrying Koshi Province lawmakers in Kanepokhari, Morang, on Monday.


The vehicle was carrying provincial assembly members Namberlal Dhimal, Radhakrishna Khanal, Maiya Shrestha, and Bidya Chamling.

The lawmakers’ vehicle collided head-on with the oncoming car (Ba 5 Cha 3520). According to the Area Police Office, Pathari, the lawmakers escaped without serious injuries.


Lawmaker Maiya Shrestha said the impact damaged the vehicle but did not injure anyone. “We were traveling in my car when a speeding vehicle suddenly hit us. We are all safe,” she said. The lawmakers were en route to Biratnagar to attend a Koshi Provincial Assembly meeting.
