Call for nominees to get selected for 92nd Oscar awards

The 92nd edition of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences or Oscar awards is being held on February 9, 2020, at Dolby theater in Los Angeles. The Academy has given the responsibility of recommending Nepali movies that fit the nomination criteria to the International Feature Film Committee (Nepal).

The 92nd edition of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences or Oscar awards is being held on February 9, 2020, at Dolby theater in Los Angeles. The Academy has given the responsibility of recommending Nepali movies that fit the nomination criteria to the International Feature Film Committee (Nepal).

For the nomination, filmmakers should contact the secretary of the committee by August 30. And those movies released from October 1, 2018, to movies likely to release by August 30, 2019, are eligible for the nomination as per a press statement released by International Feature film committee (Nepal).


To get selected, filmmakers need to send the synopsis of the movie. Then, the movie must have a complete list of production credits of the cast and crew as they appear on screen and should be translated in English as well.


Likewise, a complete biography with director’s photograph and filmography is required, written in English. Besides, they must send confirmation of advertisements verifying the seven-day theatrical run, 3 to 5 representative stills from the film, including a designated key frame.


Similarly, for the streaming asset for voting purpose, the film’s poster and digital content should be delivered for getting nominated for the award.
