Cabinet decides to present Federal Civil Service Bill to parliament

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: A meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to present the Bill relating to the Constitution, Operations and Terms and Conditions of the Federal Civil Service to the Federal Parliament.

Sharing information about the decisions of the Cabinet meeting, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Spokesperson for the government Rekha Sharma said on Friday that the government has approved the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Strategy, 2080 BS.

As per the decision of the cabinet meeting held on September 7, a five-member delegation  with Madhu Kumar Marasini, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, as its coordinator will be representing the country in the second meeting of Nepal-China Joint Trade Taskforce scheduled to take place on September 12-15 in Beijing of China.

Similarly, the cabinet has agreed to designate joint-secretary Madhu Prasad Bhetuwal as the Chief Executive Officer of Pancheshwor Development Authority till June 10, 2024 on behalf of Nepal.

Similarly, joint secretaries Deepak Lamichanne, Ram Gopal Kharbuja, and Indira Dahal Bhattarai have been assigned to take charge of executive officers (administration, environment and law, respectively).

Approving the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, the government has promoted joint secretary Phanindra Gautam and appointed him as the secretary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Likewise, Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Chanda Chapai will be participating in an event taking place on September 25-26 in Beijing, China.

The meeting has granted permission for the use of an area measuring 4.924 hectares along the national forest in Gorkha for the next 25 years for constructing physical infrastructure for the Upper Daraudi 'C' small hydropower project, along with the removal of trees within the specified area.

The cabinet has agreed to pass the Acid and other Harmful Chemical Substances (Regulations) Rules, 2080.

It has appointed Prof Dr Anjani Kumar Jha as the Vice-Chair of the Medical Education Commission.

Furthermore, the cabinet has endorsed 239 temporary officer-level posts for projects under the Ministry of Water Supplies for the fiscal year 2080-81 BS, 30 temporary quotas of officer-level under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and 31 temporary quotas of officer-level under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
