KATHMANDU, March 15: Nepali Congress member in the Constituent Assembly Bodh Narayan Sardar died in a motorcycle accident in Tankisinwari of Morang Friday. His family members, however, knew about the death only Sunday afternoon.
His father enquired about his son when he noticed CA member Sardar’s motorcycle at Nimuwa Police Post near Budhikhola, bordering Sunsari and Morang districts Sunday. When police said the motorcyclist met with an accident and was in BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, family members knew about the accident.
Other members in Sardar’s group were in public opinion collection campaign in Dhankuta so local administration in Sunsari did not care about him. Locals rushed Sardar to hospital without knowing his identioty after he met the accident. He died on the way to hospital.

Party cadres gheraoed the police post for police´s negligence in identifying the CA member who always carried his identity card and driving license.
Sardar’s family members have received his dead body and preparing to perform his last rites, according to Phanindra Mani Pokharel, assistant Chief District Officer of Sunsari.
According to family sources, Sardar’s son who is in Australia now has been informed but they have decided to perform the last rites before he arrives.
Sardar was active in Nepali Congress politics since 1971 and was popular among marginalized groups in Sunsari district.
