BUSINESS BRIEFS: NCCCI, CCPIT sign MoU

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI) and China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Taizhou Sub Council (CCPIT Taizhou) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost economical and trade relations between Nepal and China.



Rajesh Kaji Shrestha of NCCCI and Zhang Jiming of CCPIT Taizhou signed the MoU on behalf of their respective at Taijau of China. [break] Both the organizations have agreed to promote joint investment, trade extension and diversification along with exchange information regarding these issues, NCCCI said in a statement. Addressing the ceremony, Shrestha requested the Chinese traders to explore business possibilities in sectors like, hydro electricity, minerals, cement, herbs, drugs, banks, technology and tourism.


Tata´s golden offer



Sipradi Trading - the authorized distributors of Tata Motors - has launched sure shot gold scheme for the upcoming Dashain festival. Under the scheme, the company is giving away 5 tolas (1 tola = 11.664 grams) of gold on every purchase of Vista , Xeta Indigo CS, Safari Dicor and Grande MK II at the company´s ultra-modern showroom at Teku. “This is the must lucrative offer even launched in the industry,” the company said in a statement on Sunday. People buying Tata vehicles from the company´s authorized dealer in Kathmandu, Narayani Auto Business, can also enjoy the offer. Along with the golden offer, Sipradi is also paying vehicle ownership tax, registration fee and owner transfer fees, among others.



NBL´s Chandrauta branch reopens



Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) Sunday reinstated its branch at Chandrauta of Kapilvastu district. Dr Pusparaj Rajkarnikar, coordinator of NBL´s Bank Management Committee, inaugurated the branch amid a function. “I am hopeful that the new branch will be profitable for the bank and will also help our shareholders,” Dr Rajkarnikar added. He further informed that the process of automatizing the bank´s transactions would be complete by the end of November. “We are providing all the modern banking services and we´ll be working on par with our competitors in the coming days,” said Kiran Kumar Shrestha, the deputy general manager of the bank. NBL currently has a network of 109 branches and plants to reinstate 11 more branches that were shut during insurgency soon.
