FNCCI Gandaki signs MoU with Hainan-based organization

POKHARA, Nov 22: Gandaki Province chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) for bilateral trade promotion.

POKHARA, Nov 22: Gandaki Province chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) for bilateral trade promotion.


CCPIT is a Hainan-based institution of the private sector.

In the MoU signed on Wednesday, both the organizations, among others, have agreed to promote mutual cooperation on trade as well as promote business exchange visits, investment and trade preference as well as lobby for tax waiver with their respective governments. 


Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, CCPIT officials requested entrepreneurs of Gandaki Province to attend exhibition of industrial products begin organized in Hainan province of China in the near future.


Similarly, FNCCI Gandaki Province President Sanjiv Bahadur Koirala urged the Chinese business community for investment in water resources, agriculture, infrastructure development and tourism sector, among others. He also said tourism could be a promising sector for Chinese investors given the quick returns that the sector is giving, thanks to the growing number of tourists visiting the lake city.


Also speaking at the program, President of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry Damu Adhikari said that they were expecting more investments from Chinese investors as tourist arrivals from China to Nepal were growing by leap and bounds.
