BUSINESS BRIEFS: Everest Bank opens 48th branch in Gongabu

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Everest Bank has formally opened its 48th branch office and 62nd ATM in Gongobu of Kathmandu. The branch office and ATM were jointly inaugurated by Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudyal and Bank Chairman BK Shrestha, says a bank statement. The inaugural function was also attended by various dignitaries including Maha Prasad Adhikari, deputy governor of Nepal Rastra Bank and Suresh Basnet, president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce.



As per the unaudited financial results of first quarter ended mid-October, the bank generated an operating profit of Rs 538 million registering a year-on-year growth of 33.63 percent. During the period, deposits and credit of the bank grew to Rs 50.05 billion and Rs 37.80 billion, respectively, marking growth of 13.87 percent and 15.66 percent, the statement says. [break]



Mahalaxmi Finance launches ATM service



KATHMANDU
: Mahalaxmi Finance on Wednesday introduced ATM service affiliated to SCT network. "Depositors of the finance company can withdraw cash from any SCT-linked ATM kiosk using the debit card provided by the institution," a company statement says. Mahalaxmi Finance currently operates through eight branch offices and has a depositor base of 18,000. The company has so far mobilized Rs 2.56 billion in deposits.



Radisson profit up 37.02%



KATHMANDU
: Radisson Hotel Kathmandu profited Rs 111.50 million in the last fiscal year -- a rise of 37.02 percent compared to a year ago, a statement said on Wednesday. Speaking at the annual general meeting of the hotel, Bidhya Krishna Shrestha, managing director of the hotel, said total transactions were up by 17.74 percent compared to a year ago. Total revnue of the hotel during the year stood at Rs 710.10 million -- the highest so far, said the statement. The hotel´s revenue per available room (RevPAR) also increased by 19.57 percent to Rs 6,201, according to the statement.



CG Electronics announces zero percent finance facility



KATHMANDU
: CG Electronics -- the distributor of different electronic brands -- has come up with a new consumer promotion scheme ´100% happiness at 0% interest´ on the occasion of Deepawali. The company has announced zero percent finance offer on LG home appliances, LG smartphones, Toshiba, Godrej, CG, Kelvinator, Onida and TCL products. According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the offer is available exclusively in five CG outlets in Kathmandu valley --LG Lifestyle Shoppe, LG Mobile Concept Store, CG Digital Chabahil, CG Digital Lazimpat and CG Digital United World Trade Center.
