MYAGDI, March 22: Activities related to control landslides in the Myagdi section of the Beni-Jomsom-Kerala road along the Kaligandaki corridor have been affected due to budget scarcity.
It has resulted in complications in regular vehicular movement during the rainy season. The structures built so far are being affected in lack of long-term measures to control landslides due to budget crunch.
Beni-Darbang road obstructs by landslide
Chief of Beni-Jomsom-Korala road project, Dhurba Jha said around five kilometers of road along the Ghasa section of Mustang from Rahughat is at risk of landslides.
As many as 14 big landslides were reported along the 40-km Beni-Ghasa section, he mentioned, adding that they have proposed an additional budget to control landslides.
Stating that the project immediately needs Rs 8 million to prevent landslides along the section, Jha shared that they had submitted the proposal to the Finance Ministry through the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport demanding extra budget.
He complained that the construction activities have been delayed due to a lack of budget.
