Shrestha is being treated at a local medical center. "She was aboard the aircraft when she had a respiratory problem. So the plane made an emergency landing at around 9:45 AM," said Nabaraj Bam, assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) of Ranjha Airport. “She is being treated at a local medical center.”

Nepalgunj Airport Chief Dinesh Shah informed Republica that Shrestha had difficulty in breathing during the flight because of which the decision had to be taken.

He said that Shrestha had boarded the aircraft on her own, but the aircraft had to be landed in Nepalgunj for her treatment as she found breathing difficult all of a sudden while still in air. She was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance. The aircraft carrying 27 passengers again flew from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu.
