According to Nepalgunj Airport Office Chief Subash Jha, the rabbit was hit at around 7:45 PM on Monday. "A rabbit collided with a Buddha Air flight at around 7:45 PM, but we immediately cleared the runway and resumed the flight," he said. Jha said the rabbit that crashed into the aircraft died and there was no damage to the aircraft.
Flights from the airport were suspended for some time after the rabbit crashed into the aircraft. At the Nepalgunj Airport, wild animals such as wild boars, foxes, rabbits and porcupines have been repeatedly hit by aircraft. The incident had been repeated many times before as bushes spread on the airport premises. Jha said that the number of such incidents has been reduced as the bushes have been cleared now. "There are no bushes now, so the incidents have decreased," he said.
