BIRGUNJ, Feb 23: Businessmen in Birgunj are at the receiving end of tightened security on the border as India has stepped up security along the border areas following the recent bomb blasts in Hyderabad of India.

“After the gruesome incident in Hyderabad, we have stepped up security along the border areas,” said Sailesh Kumar, inspector of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Raxual, adding, “BSF has stepped up vigilance on those coming to India and leaving for Nepal.” [break]

He said security has been beefed up on the border fearing that militant groups, involved in the bomb blasts, may take advantage of the porous border between the two countries.

According to Dipak Aginarath, Raxual-based Indian journalist, “Tightened security has affected business in Raxual.”
