KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The Tribhuvan International Airport was shut down for an hour Sunday morning following rumors that a Spice Jet aircraft had a bomb planted in it.

Passengers who had already boarded the flight for New Delhi were evacuated and security personnel searched the plane to locate the rumored bomb, but fruitlessly.

The airport came back into operation from 12:30 pm. The Spice Jet plane was at the airport taxiway by press time. Police have rounded up a few people for spreading the rumor.
