Biratnagar reports one more COVID-19 related death

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 16: A 50-year-old woman from Morang district succumbed to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday midnight.


The woman died while undergoing treatment at the B.P Koirala Institute of Health Services in Dharan at around 12:30AM, according to Dinesh Sapkota, the spokesperson for the BPKIHS.

She was first admitted to Neuro Cardio & Multispecialty Hospital in Biratnagar and referred to the BPKIHS after she complained of breathing difficulties and high fever on Saturday evening. The woman was also a heart patient.


The hospital administration is now preparing to dispose her body as per the COVID-19 protocol.


With this, the COVID-19 death toll in Province 1 has reached 10 including seven in Biratnagar Metropolitan City alone.
