Similarly, Letter Singh Khatri and Kalyan Baniya secured the second and third spots in the men´s race dominated by Nepal Army athletes. Army secured top six spots. Khatri clocked 1 hour 7 minutes 19 seconds while Baniya took 1 hour 7 minutes 37 seconds to cover the distance of 21.1 km.
Jit Bahadur Dhami, Hemlal Shrestha and Raj Kumar Bista secured fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively.
In women´s´ section, athletes from Armed Police Force (APF) stole the show. APF players took home top four positions. Kanchhi Maya Koju secured the first position clocking 1 hour 19 minutes 37 seconds, Binda Shrestha made it to the second spot with a timing of 1 hour 21 minutes 43 seconds and Gita Khatri who finished third timed 1 hour 25 minutes 53 seconds.
Roju Jaya Rai, Saraswati Khadka and Samila Shrestha came in the fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively.
The top six players in both boys´ and girls´ section received Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 3,000 Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
Basnet was awarded with additional prize of Rs 25,000 for setting new national record.
Krishna Raj Chaudhary and Sonika Dhakal won the men´s and women´s title of 3 km wheelchair respectively.
