Sunmaya Budha of Mid Western Region secured gold in girl´s 5,000 m race clocking 20 minutes 19.9 seconds. In the boys´ event for the same category, Anup Khanal clocked 16 minutes 50 seconds for gold.
Binod Gurung took home the boys´ 400 m gold covering the distance in 53 seconds. Central Region took the boys´ 4X100 m relay and Mid Western Region claimed girls´ same event. Sanju Chaudhary of Mid Western Region secured first position in girl´s 200 m race with the timing of 27.6 seconds. Raj Kumar Chaudhary of Central Region and Niruta Shahi of Mid Western Region secured first position in boys´ and girls´ javelin throw.
Central, Western Region enter volleyball final
Central Region and Western Region have set a title clash in the same event in both boys´ and girls´ category. In boys´ semifinal, Central Region edged past Far Western Region 25-15, 25-19, 25-21 and Western Region saw off Eastern Region 25-11, 25-19, 25-19. In the girls´ semifinal, Central Region crushed Far Western Region 25-7, 25-8, 25-10 and Western Region beat Mid-western Region 25-6, 25-13, 25-17. The final will be played on Friday. The winners will be awarded by President Ram Baran Yadav at his official residence in Sital Niwas.
