KATHMANDU, March 8: Bardiya National Park has been awarded as the Best Sustainable Destinations in 'Asia-Pacific' category of Sustainable Top 100 Destination Awards 2019.
The national park was awarded jointly by ITB -- a leading travel trade show -- and Green Destinations Org in recognition of its efforts toward responsible tourism and distinctive appeal, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) said in a statement. "With this award, Nepal now also features in the Green Destinations Global Leaders Network, a non-profit foundation for sustainable tourism which leads a global Partnership of expert organisations, companies, and academic institutions," it added.
The award was supported by esteemed organizations like Quality Coast, AEN, Global Ecotourism Network, Linking Tourism and Conservation, Destination Stewardship Center, Travel Mole, Vision on Sustainable Tourism, according to the NTB.
