Ban on carrying excessive passengers in Khotang

KHOTANG, Nov 3: Carrying more passengers than capacity by buses has been banned in Khotang district.



This is enforced with a view to reducing road accidents and giving facilities to the passengers under the initiative of the Khotang Bus Operators Association.[break]



The Association banned keeping more than capacity passengers in buses and keeping passengers on roofs of buses along Diktel -Jayaramghat road section, said Association Chairman Gopal Shrestha.



He said bus staffs too have been banned to sit on the bus roofs and buses will ply soon after seats are packed from Jayaramghat and Diktel, said Association Member Nayan Kumar Rai.



In view of the pressure of passengers, the Association decided to run three buses from Diktel and one from Hurlung daily.
