KATHMANDU, Oct 3: A meeting of Bagmati Province Assembly that was supposed to be held today at 2 PM will be held on Wednesday at 4 PM due to special reasons.
According to the provincial assembly secretariat, the meeting has been postponed since the main opposition party, the CPN-UML, has been disrupting the provincial assembly and chanting slogans, demanding that the full text sent back by Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma to the provincial assembly meeting held on Monday evening along with a message be made available to every member of the provincial assembly.
Bagmati Provincial Assembly meeting tomorrow
Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, Bhuwan Kumar Pathak, said that an agreement was reached between the government and the opposition parties today although they had sat to reach an agreement yesterday evening but couldn’t.
In the meeting held yesterday evening, the UML was blocking provincial assembly proceedings after the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning Bahadur Singh Lama, on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Ganga Narayan Shrestha, tabled a proposal to reconsider the Provincial Lottery Bill.
