I now see the world in a way that I never thought I would. In the balcony of a bar, watching the traffic pass by, I had a glass of gin and tonic with some ice and mint in my hand. With every sip, I would inhale a handful of smoke from my e-cigarette.
To the land
Where wonders exist
Falls, Rivers, Parks
Skyscrapers, aesthetic towns
Though I have been part of it for years
My heart still remains stranded
Gets lost in the crowd of materialistic bondage

A few minutes before heading out to the concert by the Axe band-one of the legendary Nepali bands, I, along with the other lads from MS, was waiting for the MoMo’s to be delivered. Smoke and booze; they never fail to palliate one’s heart from the loquacious, bumptious world which we call home- sweet home.
“Hashish and Marijuana sold here - 1st floor,” read the signboard on one of the houses back in 1969 on the Old Freak Street, Kathmandu Durbar Square. Out of many, this signboard tells us a lot about how Nepal was one of the countries where Marijuana was legal when it was illegal in the western countries.

Amrit, see those stars. What do you think of them? Are they the one having control over us? Do we behave the way we do due to some messiah out there? These were some of the questions that we discussed every evening as we passed through the stinking yet beautiful Bagmati River. I remember how those walks to Pasupathinath shaped us become a different man strengthening our whimsical and philosophical interpretation of life. We talked of Dickens, Dawkins, Goethe, Plato, Socrates, Hitchens and what not in our journey.
