SINDHUPALCHOWK, Feb 24: A considerable number of public offices have been rebuilt in Chautara of Sindhupalchowk after four years of the devastating earthquake of 2015. According to the reconstruction authority, a total of 13 office buildings have been reconstructed while eight new ones have been built. A few hospital buildings and the district postal service building are yet to be built.

The integrated settlement spread across some 24 ropanis of land near a jungle and the Indrawati River offers all basic facilities. The houses are uniform in shape, size and color.

Their mother Kumari prepares breakfast for them so that they can go fishing in Indrawati river near their home. The Majhi brothers quit their school due to economic problems.

At least 11 persons died when a bus met with an accident at Sunkoshi rural municipality in Sindhupalchowk district on Sunday morning.
SINDHUPALCHOWK, Sept 30: Sheep and mountain goats from Tatopani, a major border point of the north, have started entering Nepal for Dashain and Tihar festivals. The sheep were transported to Nepal from Tibet as soon as the border opened after a week’s shutdown. A total of 1,100 sheep and mountain goats were brought to Tatopani in a day on Friday.
SINDHUPALCHOWK, Sept 11: The reconstruction of Bhote Koshi hydropower project has reached the last phase. Eighty percent of the reconstruction work has already been completed, and the project is preparing to go for commercial production from November.
SINDHUPALCHOWK, Sep 6: Although the government decided to award the contract to complete the remaining works of Melamchi Drinking Water Project to a Chinese firm after several months of indecision, the completion of the much-awaited project is likely to be delayed further as fresh protests have erupted at the construction site. Chinese firm Sino Hydro Company was awarded the contract after the Italian company abandoned the project halfway in November last year.
SINDHUPALCHWOK, July 8: Two construction workers went missing while two others sustained injuries due to floods triggered by incessant rainfall in Sindhupalchok district on Saturday night. The injured workers -- Kami Tamang and Pembathokel Sherpa, who were rescued using the long line technique -- were airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment.
