ITAHARI, Aug 26: With each passing year, the number of people seeking treatment for snakebite at the Community Snakebite Treatment Center (CSTC) of Itahari has been increasing. In the four months after the beginning of the Nepali New Year, 810 patients have come to the center to get treated for snakebites.
ITAHARI, Aug 14: The District Court Sunsari has sent three members of a family running jewelry business to judicial custody on financial fraud charges. According to Nawaraj Acharya, an official at the court, they were sent to judicial custody on charges of defrauding the public by illegally collecting deposits, assuring them to give high interest rates.
ITAHARI, Aug 13: On July 11, an eighteen years old girl visited Koshi Dental Hospital of Itahari seeking treatment for her ailing tooth. After her first appointment, doctor Dhirendra Sah, 29 told her to come after two days. On July 15, she reached the hospital for the follow up. In the beginning, a nurse was assisting the doctor in filling the cavity in her tooth. However, after some time the doctor asked the nurse to leave and he then started touching the girl inappropriately.

ITAHARI, June 26: Five years ago, Balutun Khatun’s cottage on the bank of the Chatara Canal in Ramdhuni-2 was demolished as it was built by encroaching the canal’s land. The canal is part of the Sunsari-Morang Irrigation Project.
