SUNSARI, Sept 3: Three people including two policemen have died in road accidents at different places in Sunsari.

Two policemen were killed in an accident in Sunsari Koshi Rural Municipality area along the East-West Highway on Saturday morning. In the accident, constable Durganand Chaudhary of Nepal Police, PSO of the Minister of Labor and Employment and Assistant Inspector of Armed Police Force (APF) Prakash Budha working in Morang breathed their last.

SP Prabhu Dhakal, Chief of District Police Office, Sunsari, said it is not clear whether the two deceased went on duty or were heading to the west for personal work.

The accident occurred at 8:25 AM when a pick-up van (Ko 2 Ch 2649) traveling from east to west hit the motorcycle (Ba 60 P 4492) heading in the opposite direction.

In a separate accident, a person was killed in an accident at Itahari Municipality-2, Aapagachi along the Koshi Highway on Friday night. Lomash Dahal of Itahari Municipality-2 died after being hit by a pickup van while traveling on a motorcycle. Another person was also injured in the accident.
