Australian PM Albanese extends Dashain greetings to Australia’s Nepali community

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the Nepali community in Australia as they come together to celebrate the Dashain festival.

In a statement, Prime Minister Albanese emphasized the significance of celebrating Dashain as a means for the Nepali community to preserve their cultural traditions. He stated, "Regardless of when your family's journey to Australia began, the timeless rituals of this ancient festival are a precious inheritance in a new land."

Across Australia, numerous events and gatherings have been organized to mark this annual festival. Prime Minister Albanese highlighted the festival as an excellent opportunity for the Nepali community to share their rich culture with the wider Australian community.

He expressed, "From Launceston to Shepparton, Perth to Sydney, Australia's Nepali community graciously shares the blessings of their history and heritage with all of us."
