Visually impaired students currently face difficulties due to the lack of text books in Braille scripts.
The project aims at recording the lessons in CDs which will decrease their dependency on others and give them an equal and quick access to the lessons taught in schools, at par with other students.
At present the visually impaired students have to rely on their memory to study since they are unable to take notes.
Along with audio books, the project also plans to provide the students with other accessories such as headphones, MP3 players etc.

Apart from singers such as Yogeshwor Amatya, Tsujil Karmacharya, Himalayan Bob popular bands such as Albatross, Lyric Indy performed at the event to entertain and raise an awareness regarding the topic.
While slam poets Ujjwala Maharjan, Gaurav Subba and Yanki Shrestha of Lyrics Indy also entertained the audience with their poetry that spoke about Kathmandu and finding inspiration in little things.
Utsav Nepal, a visually impaired singer also shared the stage with well known names.
Friday’s event was able to raise a total of Rs 2, 65,000 out of which Rs 1, 65,000 was donated by UNICEF.
The money will be used to purchase accessories required for the project.
